Taylor and Wiikman share AHL player of week honours
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Rookie netminders Daniel Taylor of the Manchester Monarchs and Miika Wiikman of the Hartford Wolf Pack were named co-winners of the American Hockey League player of the week award Wednesday.
Taylor went 2-0-0 and stopped all 67 shots he faced last week to stretch his personal shutout streak to 185 minutes 36 seconds.
Wiikman posted two shutouts of his own and finished the week with a 3-0-0 record. He had a 0.33 goals-against average and .989 save percentage.
