I don't know if it's possible for the Stanley Cup final to be upstaged by another entity from the world of hockey, but Gary Bettman and his equally strange bedfellows at NBC have done just that.
A lot of Red Wings fans are thinking more about how playing back-to-back games will affect our guys more than thinking about Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and M-A Fleury.
All for this paltry television contract with a network that is more interested in getting Conan O'Brien off to a fast start (if Johnny Carson is the Bobby Orr of late night, Conan is the equivalent of Pavel Brendl).
I think the Penguins have a great chance to win this series. Their time will come and it may be a bit sooner than Wings fans wish for.
But, if they do take the Cup, it would be nice for Pittsburgh to get full credit, rather than give any to NBC.
Maybe Conan can have his name on the Cup next to Brooks Orpik...
