The Flying Father quite a story

Thomas J. Hudon, Timmins, Ont.

A big thank you to Ken Campbell for his amazing article “The Flying Father: Les Costello” in the Nov. 1 issue.

In a short amount of space, Campbell's article was able to show exactly who Father Les was. Campbell could have easily filled the whole issue with stories of Father Les.

My favorite story? It was the early 90s and I was playing atom hockey. My father was the coach and giving us a rough ride in practice when all of a sudden a white haired man jumped over the boards onto the ice yelling, "This practice is over. It's time to have fun."

Suddenly a scrimmage ensued and all my dad was left to do was shake his head and smile. Thanks for bringing back memories, Ken Campbell.
