News and Views…

INTEL: Minard returned to the 'A' with a bang by registering a hat trick, while Pesonen added two assists. Since the Pens only play their next game on Thursday against Edmonton, there's a chance one (or both) wingers will be recalled if Ruslan Fedotenko (undisclosed) and/or Pascal Dupuis (undisclosed--IR) remain sidelined.

Jonas Ahnelov, D, Phoenix Coyotes

2008/11/03: Fully recovered from a broken finger that sidelined him late in the preseason, Phoenix Coyotes rookie defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has been assigned to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. Thus, his career-high streak of 51 consecutive regular season starts will end. The team is still awaiting X-ray and MRI results taken on Sunday. 2008/11/03: Edmonton Oilers veteran defenseman Jason Strudwick returned to action on Sunday against the Philadelphia Flyers after missing two games with a shoulder injury. He replaced Denis Grebeshkov, who missed the game because of a mild concussion. He's considered day to day.

Pascal Leclaire, G, Columbus Blue Jackets

2008/11/02: The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire (ankle) is expected to practice on Monday, but he is not supposed to dress for Monday's game at N.Y. Islanders. It appears Leclaire is nearing a return and Daniel Lacosta will be returned to Syracuse of the AHL shortly.

Ryan Getzlaf, C, Anaheim Ducks

The Orange County Register is reporting that Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf was forced to have a few teeth removed due to a lingering abscess. The Ducks return to game action on Tuesday in Los Angeles for the first of three games in four days and Getzlaf is not expected to miss any playing time.
