TORONTO - Add country singer-songwriter to the resume of former hockey hero Theo Fleury.

The former Calgary Flame star has written and recorded a song that will be featured in the next episode of CBC-TV's "Battle of the Blades."

Fleury is one of five former hockey players competing on the reality series, which pairs ex-NHLers with former figure skating champs in weekly dance routines.

Producers say Fleury and figure skater Shae-Lynn Bourne each recorded country songs they'll be skating to Sunday. They say Fleury wrote and recorded a song called "As the Story Goes," while Bourne is singing "All Over Again" with Irish singer Don Mescall.

The five remaining pairs are: Fleury and Jamie Sale, Bourne and Patrice Brisebois, Isabelle Brasseur and Todd Warriner, Ekaterina Gordeeva and Valeri Bure, and Kyoko Ina and Kelly Chase.

The guest judge will be U.S. figure skating icon Scott Hamilton.
