Theodore leaves Capitals for personal reasons, Neuvirth recalled from Hershey

WASHINGTON - Goaltender Jose Theodore has left the Capitals to travel back to Washington for personal reasons.

To replace him, the team has recalled Michal Neuvirth from the Hershey Bears of the AHL. He will be the backup to goalie Semyon Varlamov for Washington's road game against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.

The Capitals expect Theodore to be away only for one day.
