Third round of WHL Best Name contest is set
Some very good candidates have been eliminated, but that just means the elite eight have earned their bids. Who will come out on top as we pit great monikers against each other?

It's really getting down to it now. Our Elite Eight has been set thanks to the votes you cast on Twitter as the WHL Best Name tourney gets serious. The Victoria Royals, who have been strong all tournament long, are guaranteed a semifinalist, but will another challenger be able to take the overall crown? Watch the THN Twitter feed for your chance to vote your faves into our Final Four. Here are the pairings:
Kayle Doetzel (Red Deer) vs. Dysin Mayo (Edmonton)
Coleman Vollrath (Victoria) vs. Chaz Reddekopp (Victoria)
Ryely McKinstry (Vancouver) vs. Kohl Bauml (Everett)
Keanu Yamamoto (Spokane) vs. Carsen Twarynski (Calgary)
Voting for the third round ends next Friday at noon eastern.
