Thrashers can't take flight

Steve Lourenco, Dover, Ohio

I truly feel bad for the fans in Atlanta. From Heatley to Hossa and now Kovalchuk, it is obvious nobody wants to play for the Thrashers, not even for the enticement of more than 100 million dollars.

How can the Atlanta management go to their fans and ask them to support the club when they are in a constant rebuilding mode?

The NHL should come to the realization that hockey in Atlanta just doesn't work. And we all know this isn't the first time.

Perhaps moving the team to a hockey market – Winnipeg, Quebec, Hamilton – would re-energize a seemingly perpetually floundering franchise going nowhere.
