DALLAS - Atlanta goalie Chris Mason left the Thrashers' game Saturday night against Dallas in the first period because of what the club termed a lower-body injury.

Mason was accidentally hit by teammate Chris Thorburn, who was sliding after blocking a shot.

Mason was replaced by Ondrej Pavelec at 7:48, and Pavelec allowed a power-play goal to Trevor Daley on the first shot he faced.
