Thrashers release two players, including veteran goalie Manny Legace

ATLANTA - Veteran goalie Manny Legace was among two players released Monday by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Legace, 36, appeared in one preseason game for Atlanta, stopping 25-of-27 shots against Carolina.

Also released was forward Dan Fritsche.

Legace has appeared in 337 career games with Los Angeles, Detroit and St. Louis. Last season, he played in 29 games for the Blues and 23 for the team's AHL affiliate in Peoria.

Fritsche had one assist in five preseason games for the Thrashers. He has 34 goals and 42 assists in 256 career games with Columbus, the New York Rangers and Minnesota.
