
ATLANTA - The Atlanta Thrashers signed unrestricted free agent Nigel Dawes and restricted free agent Niclas Bergfors to one-year contracts Monday.
Dawes, a 25-year-old left-winger, had 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 66 games with the Calgary Flames last season. His deal is worth US$650,000.
Bergfors, who signed for $900,000, had a combined 44 points (21-23) in 81 games with Atlanta and New Jersey last season. The 23-year-old right-winger came to Atlanta as part of the deal that sent Ilya Kovalchuk to the Devils.
Dawes has 83 points in 199 career NHL games with the New York Rangers, Phoenix and Calgary.
