I couldn't believe it when I heard Dave Tippett was not named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s best coach.
Mike Babcock and Bruce Boudreau - one with an all-star lineup and the other with, likely, the MVP - are finalists? How much coaching did they have to do?
Let's look at the evidence for Tippett. The Stars were expected to finish out of the playoffs and it was said they couldn't score enough. They lost four of their five power play unit members (Zubov, Boucher, Lehtinen, Jokinen) for a chunk of the season to injury and dealt with the worst travel schedule in the league.
I'm not saying Tippett should have won it, but to not even be considered? What a joke.
