Todd Bertuzzi makes return Thursday night, plays first game for Red Wings

He played left wing on a line centred by Pavel Datsyuk, and with Tomas Holmstrom on right wing.

Bertuzzi, acquired from Florida at the trade deadline, said his surgically repaired back feels fine and he is in game shape.

"I'm just going to go out there and try to find my way early," Bertuzzi said earlier Thursday. "Obviously you don't want to be a hazard out there, but I think that we worked hard enough where I can go out and play my game. So I'm very confident in that."

The 32-year-old Bertuzzi has been sidelined since October because of a back injury. He has played only seven games this season, with one goal and six assists.

"It's fun to be part of a team again," Bertuzzi said.
