Top 10 NHL goals of the year: Hertl through the legs or Chara spin-o-rama?

There were so many great goals this year it was difficult to whittle the must-see list down to a top 10. While you can argue the order, and the omission of others, you can't deny each of these were jaw-droppers.

There were so many great goals this year it was difficult to whittle the must-see list down to a top 10. To keep it manageable, I omitted shootout goals and kept it to just the NHL, which kept my personal favorite - Jori Lehtera's ballsy and hilarious move from the KHL All-Star Game - off the list for a couple reason. But here it is, anyway...

Now, without further ado, here are the top 10 NHL goals of the year...

No. 10: Claude Giroux vs. Columbus, Dec. 19

No. 9: Shawn Matthias vs. Boston, Feb. 14

No. 8: Magnus Paajarvi vs. Colorado, Feb. 12

No. 7: Sidney Crosby vs. NY Islanders, May 9

No. 6: Eric Fehr vs. Boston, March 5

No. 5: Pavel Datsyuk vs. Nashville, Feb. 19

No. 4: Nick Foligno vs. Tampa Bay, Dec. 3

No. 3: Corey Perry vs. NY Islanders, Dec. 9

No. 2: Zdeno Chara vs. Florida, Feb. 24

No. 1: Tomas Hertl vs. NY Rangers, Oct. 8
