TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled goalie Ben Scrivens from the AHL Marlies ahead of Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Leafs also announced that goaltender Jonas Gustavsson is day-to-day with a knee injury and will not be in lineup.

Scrivens, 25, has played eight games with the Maple Leafs this season, posting a 2-4-1 record with a 2.96 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.

The Spruce Grove, Alta., native has also appeared in 37 games for the Marlies in 2011-12, compiling a record of 21-14-1 with a 2.07 GAA, a .925 save percentage and four shutouts.

Gustavsson was injured in warmups prior to Thursday's 7-1 loss to Philadelphia after taking a shot of his knee, pressing backup Jussi Rynnas into action.

Toronto goalie James Reimer is also sidelined with an undisclosed upper-body injury.

The Leafs also announced Saturday that forward Sam Carrick was signed to a three-year entry level contract. The 20-year-old from Stouffville, Ont., had 37 goals and 30 assists for the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League last season.
