TORONTO - Nikolai Kulemin's first stint in the minors didn't last very long.

The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled the rookie forward from the American Hockey League on Sunday. He was sent to the AHL Marlies on Wednesday and appeared in three games, registering no points.

Kulemin has played 40 games for the Maple Leafs, scoring seven goals and 14 points.

The 22-year-old Russian was selected by Toronto in the second round of the 2006 draft.
