Vancouver Canucks place centre Kyle Wellwood on waivers

VANCOUVER - Kyle Wellwood is back on waivers.

The Vancouver Canucks placed the 26-year-old centre on waivers Friday, a sports news station reported. Wellwood played only one game with the Canucks this season and registered no points. The Toronto Maple Leafs placed Wellwood on waivers in the off-season where he was picked up and signed to a one-year deal by Vancouver.

Wellwood had been plagued by a hernia injuries his last two seasons with the Leafs and injured a bone in his foot this summer.
