Vancouver Canucks send centre Kyle Wellwood to AHL's Manitoba Moose

VANCOUVER - A day after being put on waivers by the Canucks, centre Kyle Wellwood was re-assigned Saturday to Vancouver's AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose

The 26-year-old Windsor, Ont., native has played only one game with the Canucks this season and registered no points.

The Toronto Maple Leafs placed Wellwood on waivers in the off-season where he was picked up and signed to a one-year deal by Vancouver.

Wellwood had been plagued by a hernia injuries his last two seasons with the Leafs and injured a bone in his foot this summer.

In his NHL career, Wellwood has recorded 108 points (31-77-108) in 190 games played.
