Vancouver Canucks sign two forwards and defenceman to contracts
VANCOUVER, B.C. - The Vancouver Canucks signed forwards Tanner Glass and Guillaume Desbiens and defenceman Mike Funk to NHL contracts Wednesday.
Glass, 25, spent the 2008-09 season with the Rochester Americans of the AHL and Florida Panthers. The six-foot, 196-pound Regina native played three games with the Panthers, collecting seven penalty minutes.
In 44 games with Rochester he had four goals, nine assists and 100 penalty minutes.
Funk, 22, a native of Abbotsford, B.C., has played nine games over two seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, collecting two assists. The six-foot-four, 210-pound defenceman had a goal and two assists in 13 games with the AHL Portland Pirates last year.
Desbiens, 24, played 78 games with the AHL Manitoba Moose in 2008-09 recording 47 points (21-26-47) and 158 penalty minutes. The six-foot-two, 205-pound native of Alma, Que., scored four goals and eight assists in 22 playoff games.
