The Owen Sound Attack are off to a fantastic start this season and one of the reasons for their early success is second-year defenseman Chris Bigras. The Elmvale, Ont., native is not putting up huge offensive numbers, but he is part of the Attack's top shutdown pair, charged with containing the league's best offensive units. And they seem to be doing just that.

Through 11 games Bigras has an impressive plus-13 rating, which puts him second in the Ontario League behind his defensive partner Nathan Chiarlitti. And while it is early in the year, if Bigras can maintain this pace he will get a lot more attention as the 2013 NHL Entry Draft approaches.’s web editor Rory Boylen takes a closer look at the budding junior star.
