VIDEO: Flyers work their way back into playoff picture

The Hockey News

When Flyers GM Paul Holmgren decided to fire coach John Stevens in late November the team was 13-11-1, had 27 points and was sitting just outside the playoffs. For a team expected to soar through the regular season and compete for the Stanley Cup, .500 hockey was simply unacceptable and a change was necessary.

Peter Laviolette replaced Stevens as the new bench boss and initially he didn’t fair any better. But in the past few weeks the Flyers have caught fire and their confidence is soaring.

While the Flyers are well aware there is a lot hockey still to play, the team is enjoying their recent success and willing to keep up the hard work that put them back on track. Ken Campbell takes an in-depth look at the resurgent Philadelphia Flyers.
