Not only does Montreal Canadiens prospect Alex Galchenyuk show the signs of a blossoming world class professional, he has the pedigree to match. His father, Alexander, played professionally in Russia, Belarus, Italy and the United States and represented his country on the international stage.

Alexander has had plenty of time to share the wealth of knowledge he gained throughout his career with his son over the past three seasons as an assistant coach for Galchenyuk’s Ontario League club, the Sarnia Sting. And it seems to be paying off. Galchenyuk is on pace to surpass his father's success as a pro and that bodes well for fans of the Canadiens.
