    This season has not gone the way Eric Staal and the Carolina Hurricanes had hoped. A slow start by Staal and the team put the Canes in a deep a hole. But despite their early struggles, both player and team have turned things around and are hoping to build toward the future with a strong finish to the 2011-12 campaign.

    THN’s Ryan Kennedy caught up with the Canes captain to discuss his second-half success, which of his two brothers he will cheer for if the Penguins and Rangers meet in playoffs and more.
