Washington Capitals captain Chris Clark to have wrist surgery

WASHINGTON - Washington Capitals captain Chris Clark will have surgery on his right wrist this week and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Clark missed Washington's past two games. His operation is scheduled for Thursday. The forward has one goal and five assists this season for Southeast Division-leading Washington.

He has 91 goals and 88 assists in nine years in the NHL with Washington and Calgary.

Clark has struggled with various ailments over the past two seasons, appearing in only 18 games during 2007-08 and 32 of 51 this season.
