    The 29-year-old would have become an unrestricted free agent July 1. He will earn $800,000 next season and $825,000 in 2008-09, a raise from the $575,000 he's making this season.

    Johnson is 4-5-3 with a 3.50 goals-against average and .893 save percentage this season. He was claimed off waivers from Vancouver in October 2005. He went 9-12-1 last season with a 3.44 GAA and .905 save percentage.
