Washington Capitals sign winger Joe Motzko to two-year contract

The 27-year-old won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim last season. He was originally a free-agent signing by Columbus in 2003. Motzko has recorded one NHL point - a goal - in 11 career regular-season games.

He appeared in three playoff games with the Ducks, including one in the Stanley Cup final.

Motzko has registered 168 points (72-96) in 279 American Hockey League games.
