Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin extended his goal-scoring streak to three games in highlight-reel fashion on Saturday night.
Malkin stripped Oilers’ defenseman Oscar Klefbom of the puck and then used a spin-o-rama move around Mark Fayne before beating Anders Nilsson with a backhand shot for his 10th of the season.
He added his second of the night less than three minutes later to tie the game 2-2.
The 29-year-old now has seven goals and three assists in his last five games.
“It’s all practice. I have great speed. I know the defenseman was a little bit stuck in the middle (of the ice) and I have a spin-o-rama and a backhand shot," Malkin told the Root Sports broadcast during the second intermission. "Usually my backhand (doesn’t) work, but I’m lucky today it worked.”
