Welcome to THN's brand new Post-to-Post blog

Today marks a new era on with the launch of the Post-To-Post blog. Editor-in-chief Jason Kay explains what this change will entail.

A year ago today, hockey’s hot story was Krys Barch’s alcohol-fueled Twitter ramblings on the lockout, his ascension to the NHL and his general philosophy on life. His curious viewpoints made for great fodder on the Internet and around our office at a time when we were desperately seeking any crumbs of engaging news.

Tomorrow, mercifully, we know we won’t have to worry about where our next table scrap is coming from. We know Barch will be with Florida, preparing for the Panthers’ first game of the season in Dallas as the league and its employees embark on a full 82-game slate (unless you’re David Clarkson. Or Paul Bissonnette. Or Zack Kassian). Plus we get the Olympics in February. And six outdoor games – or 5.5, depending on what happens in Vancouver. However you dissect it, times are exciting.

At, we’re even more juiced thanks to a refresh of our home page and the launch of our Post-to-Post blog. Starting today, right here, right now, our online world is expanding exponentially. You’ll be treated to many of the same features we’d been posting in our old format – opinion columns, prospect rankings, rumor roundup, etc. – augmented and enhanced with myriad other items throughout the course of the day, every day.

We’ll tee up each night’s NHL slate with game previews, react to news and events as they happen, provoke thought and reaction with impromptu analysis, share slide shows and highlights of action via photos and video, identify the stars and goats, post polls to get your opinion and engage you for feedback. We’ll have a bit more fun and inject more irreverence, but we’ll remain responsible and respectful of the iconic brand we represent.

Web editor Rory Boylen is the primary voice and face of the blog, while stalwarts such as Ken Campbell, Adam Proteau and Ryan Kennedy will continue to appear with regular frequency. Their posts will be complemented by other THN staff members and a growing pool of freelance talent.

If you have any ideas or suggestions on what you’d like to see in our new, expanded world, don’t be bashful. We’re eager to hear from you ( Almost as anxious as we are to see the opening faceoff, between Toronto and Montreal, in Game 1 of 1,230 tomorrow night.
