What's next in Leaf land?

So when the Leafs get past this front office debacle what will the new excuse for not being Stanley Cup contenders be?

40-plus years of futility have made the situation laughable, as each year the focus seems to be directed away from the obvious.

The players hired to play perform poorly, therefore they miss the playoffs or make an early exit. One day the money train in Toronto will go completely off track and, heck, maybe then Leaf fans will become hockey fans and see their team for what it is: A cash cow for others.

Pass out the crying towels it’s going to be a long off-season.

Mr. Fletcher, run. Run fast and run far.

Scott Coring, Welland Ont.
