Where's Teppo?

It was hard for me to stomach when the three Masterton finalists were announced.

While all of those nominated are deserving, I couldn't believe that Buffalo's Teppo Numminen was not one of the top three.

A veteran with 20 seasons in the NHL, Teppo underwent open-heart surgery in September 2007.

It took weeks for him to even do normal activities, such as driving, due to his cracked rib cage.

He played in the seasons finale in 2008 and re-signed with Buffalo in the summer of 2008, after proving he can still do what he loves.

How the NHL writer's didn't include him on the finalist list is beyond me.

There's no one in the NHL with more heart - pun intended.
