Wild goalie Josh Harding named NHL first star of week after posting three wins

TORONTO - Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding was named NHL first star of the week Monday after posting three straight victories last week.

Harding posted a 0.99 goals-against average and .968 save percentage to help the Wild (7-3-3) climb to second place in the Northwest Division.

Forward Loui Eriksson of the Dallas Stars was named second star and forward Nicklas Backstrom of the Washington Capitals took the third star.

Eriksson had two goals and four assists in two games last week to help the Stars (10-3-0) stay on top of the Western Conference standings. Backstrom scored three goals and added three assists as the Capitals (9-3-0) won two of three games to remain in first place in the Southeast Division.
