Wild lose Folin (knee) for 3-4 weeks

The 25-year-old defenseman suffered an MCL sprain in his left knee during Friday's win over the Penguins.

The Minnesota Wild will be without the services of Christian Folin for nearly a month after the blue liner suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee during Friday’s win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“He’s going to be missed,” coach Bruce Boudreau said per Michael Russo of the Star Tribune. “He’s a big bodied guy that we could definitely use. No matter how you cut it, he’s going to be missed, whether it’s a short time or a long time, for two games or for 10 games.”

Folin has two assists in 19 games this season while averaging 16:42 a night in ice time.

According to Russo, Nate Prosser will draw into the Wild lineup on Saturday when Minnesota opens a five-game road trip against the St. Louis Blues. Prosser has appeared in eight games for the Wild this season registering one assist while averaging 12:46 a night in ice time.
