Winnipeg Jets activate Ben Maxwell from injured reserve, place Hainsey on IR

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jet activated centre Ben Maxwell from injured reserve Saturday.

Maxwell was placed on the IR on Sept. 28 with an upper body injury and will be in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The native of North Vancouver, B.C., had a goal and an assist in 12 games for the Atlanta Thrashers last season.

Maxwell spent most of the 2010-11 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, scoring 11 goals and 29 assists in 47 games.

In another move, the Jets have placed defenceman Ron Hainsey on the IR with an upper body injury retroactive to Oct. 17.

Hainsey appeared in four games with the Jets this season, collecting two assists and six penalty minutes.

He appeared in 82 games last season with Atlanta, earning 19 points.
