Without Reinprecht, Coyotes face Sabres

Buffalo (25-19-5) at Phoenix (24-21-5), 9:00 pm EST

GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- The Phoenix Coyotes will attempt

to the avoid a third straight loss without a key offensive

weapon.

The Coyotes will be without center Steve Reinprecht when they

host the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.

Reinprecht left Thursday's 2-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks in

the first period with a shoulder injury and did not return. He

will miss four-to-eight weeks.

The 32-year-old Reinprecht, who ranks fourth on the team with 28

points this season, owns a club-best, plus-9 rating.

"It's tough. He's a consummate team player as far as his work

ethic goes, and he has been great with our young kids," Phoenix

coach Wayne Gretzky said Friday. "Defensively, he has been

sound as far as faceoffs and killing penalties. It's going to

be a big hole for us."

The Sabres, who are currently on a six-game road swing, are

coming off a 5-2 loss to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.

Buffalo will wrap up its trip in Anaheim on Monday.

Currently sitting in seventh in the Eastern Conference

standings, the Sabres have posted an 8-4-0 record this month.
