Anaheim Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli are spearheading a $1 billion privately funded transformation that will “reimagine the guest experience” at Honda Center.
Branded as “Honda Center Encore,” the project launched in Fall 2024 and is expected to run through the end of 2027. Honda Center will remain open through all phases.
This project goes hand-in-hand with OCVIBE, the $4 billion entertainment district that is being constructed in the surrounding area of Honda Center.
Speculation: When to Expect an Anaheim Ducks Coaching Hire
The Anaheim Ducks announced on April 19 that Greg Cronin would not return as head coach of the organization for the 2025-26 season.
“This is more than just an investment in a venue — it’s an investment in Anaheim and the future of Orange County as a global destination for live entertainment,” Chief Executive Officer of OC Sports & Entertainment Bill Foltz said in a press statement. “Honda Center Encore reflects our commitment to delivering a world-class experience for every guest, every visit — all made possible through the vision and generosity of the Samueli Family.”
Honda Center’s transformation will include a new five-story South Entrance with “a grand arrival experience and future plans for a high-impact digital display to host outdoor viewing parties and special community moments.” Escalators will also be a welcome and long-needed addition to the arena.
Three new parking garages with over 6,000 stalls will help increase available parking by nearly 60 percent, with the two general parking garages beginning service this upcoming October. An all-inclusive model, which is the first of its kind at a U.S. arena will eliminate the need for parking passes and create a streamlined entry and exit experience for ticketholders.
Report: Anaheim Ducks Interview Joel Quenneville for Head Coaching Vacancy (Updated)
The Anaheim Ducks parted ways with head coach Greg Cronin on April 19, following his second season behind the Ducks’ bench.
Renovations expected to be completed by the end of 2027 would set up Honda Center perfectly for Summer 2028, when it will host volleyball for the LA Summer Olympics.
“From a marketing perspective, it’s an incredible time to take a look at what’s happening here,” Ducks Chief Marketing Officer Merit Tully said. “Not only with the team itself, but the development right next to us and the county as a whole. As we came into this year and and we launched our “Orange Country” campaign, it's something that I don't think any of us saw how galvanizing it would be for not only our fan base, but the county at large. And you can feel with the impressive improvement that our guys have shown on the ice night in and night out, that there's a palpable difference in the excitement here in and around the arena.”
