The Boston Bruins have announced that forward Vinni Lettieri has been assigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Lettieri being sent back to Providence comes with forward Mark Kastelic being activated off injured reserve.

Lettieri, 29, was recalled by the Bruins ahead of their Jan. 14 contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In eight games with Boston following his promotion, he had two goals and an even plus/minus rating. He also did not record a point in his last five games with Boston.

Lettieri will now look to continue to make a big impact with Providence from here. He has had an excellent season with the AHL squad, posting 14 goals and 35 points in 35 games.
