David Pastrnak was honest about the team's play in their tough loss to the Rangers.

The Boston Bruins lost to the New York Rangers by a 3-2 final score at Madison Square on February 5. It was a deflating loss for the Bruins, who had a 2-1 lead at the start of the third but threw it away. Rangers forward Chris Kreider's game-winning goal came on a Bruins power play, adding salt to the wound.

Following the game, Bruins superstar David Pastrnak was honest about the club's sloppy finish against New York. He refused to blame it on fatigue after the Bruins played against the Minnesota Wild the night before.

"No, I don't think [fatigue was a factor]. It's our own doing. We were undisciplined, got scored on against on the power play," Pastrnak said. "Those are two things that bite you in this league. We didn't have our A-game today whatsoever, but we were up 2-1 after two periods somehow. You know, thanks to Korpi and a couple of goals. We just got to be better with the discipline and on the power play, obviously."

It is hard to disagree with Pastrnak's take here. Losing a game on a short-handed goal undoubtedly stings but especially when noting that the Bruins need as many points as possible to help their playoff chances. After this regulation loss, the Bruins remain sixth in the Atlantic Division standings. A win would have had them pass the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning in the standings.

Pastrnak did his part to try to get the Bruins two points, as he tied the game at 1-1 during the second period. With this, he extended his point streak to 12 games, where he has 11 goals and 14 assists over that span.
