On Wednesday afternoon, the Calgary Flames called up 24-year-old defenseman Ilya Solovyov from the Calgary Wranglers.
In 41 AHL games this season, the left-handed defender has six goals and 15 assists for 21 points while compiling a plus-18 rating.
Solovyov is the second-highest-scoring defenseman on the Wranglers, just four points behind Jeremie Poirier.
Last season, he played ten games with the Flames and received three call-ups in October, December, and April. Solovyov has three career assists, 17 blocked shots, 14 hits, two penalties, and a minus-3 rating.
The seventh-round pick (205th overall) from the 2020 draft is the second player in Flames history to hail from Belarus, with the other being Yegor Sharangovich.
