The Calgary Flames continue to help grow the game of hockey in the area, where recent coaches Rebecca Johnston and Danielle Fujita took part in a coaching clinic geared towards helping develop female coaches in the city.

Johnston is a Player Development, Grassroots Hockey Department Coach and is one of the two female coaches on the Flames' staff with Fujita, who has been the team's skating consultant since 2018-19.

During an interview with Flames TV, Fujita explained that this most recent clinic aimed to help females who are already coaching or interested in getting behind the bench.

She mentioned that, in addition to improving their skating skills, another key aspect of the clinic was helping coaches become better teachers.
