The Calgary Flames have selected forward Cullen Potter out of Arizona State.

He is the son of of Olympic gold medalist and USA hockey legend Jenny Potter.

In his own right, Potter has scored 17 goals and 46 points in 54 games for the U-17 U.S. NTDP team in 2023-24 and 13 goals and 22 points in 35 games for the Sun Devils in 2024-25.

The 18-year-old has also won a silver and a bronze medal in the 2023 World U17 Challenge and 2024 U18 World Championship respectively as part of team USA, scoring five goals and 16 points in 14 games. He registered the most assists in the former tournament.
