With the WHL, OHL and QMJHL Championships Series to be played in the upcoming days, Flames fans can now have a sneak peek at what the championship DNA of Calgary's system players look like.

Let see who is in contention:

WHL Medicine Hat Tigers, Andrew Basha, Winger

In the WHL, the Medicine Hat Tigers are due to battle the Spokane Chiefs for the WHL title starting Friday. Representing the Flames on the top-seeded Tigers is the 41st overall pick from 2024, alternate captain and winger Andrew Basha.

While Medicine Hat blazed through the season, an injury and ankle surgery rendered Basha inactive since Dec. 28, 2024. While there is no confirmation the Calgary-native is going to lace up his skates against Spokane, the 19-year-old is likely to do so as evident by him returning to practice with his teammates early Tuesday morning.

And if he does, Flames and Tigers' fans will see why had the fifth-highest power play assists on the team in the regular season, even though he missed over five months of WHL action.

He was one of four players on the team going greater than one-point-per-game in the regular season before his injury. He has, though, produced a better than one-point-per-game season in the year before when scored 85 in 63 games.

A similar great performance in the WHL Championship Series will do wonders for his future.

QMJHL Moncton Wildcats, Étienne Morin, Defenceman

The alternate captain of the Wildcats, on the other hand, has been active throughout season. The Quebec-native had compiled 44 assists and 58 points in 62 games with a rating of +32. His 15 power play assists are the highest on the team.

But it was in the post-season where he really thrived: He had the third-highest assists AND the fourth-highest power play points in the QMJHL playoffs.

The Moncton Wildcats are slated to face either Rimouski or Shawinigan for the QMJHL title.

No matter who the opponent is, it will be very interesting (and exciting) to see what numbers Morin puts up.
