Carolina Hurricanes prospects Viggo Nordlund and Filip Ekberg are making the most of their minutes at the World Junior Summer Showcase, as both got on the scoresheet for Team Sweden, despite playing in bottom-six roles.
In Sweden's Monday afternoon game against USA White, Nordlund set up Alex Zetterberg for the first goal of the game.
He collected the puck along the right wall and as he skated it down low, passed it through the USA defender's legs to Zetterberg coming down the slot.
Later, Ekberg called his shot on a quickly developing 2-on-1, going post and in off of the rush to tie the game up at 2-2.
