The Russian netminder registered his first NHL point in Thursday's win.

It took just 72 career games for Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov to register his first career NHL point.

In Thursday's 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames, Kochetkov had the primary assist on the fourth goal as he cleared the puck himself down into the Calgary end which Eric Robinson picked up and deposited into an empty net.

It's a bit surprising that Kochetkov, 25, hadn't had a point at any point earlier in his career as he's always been a more active puck handler.

He's also scored a goal before when he was with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL in the 2022-23 season.

So perhaps we'll be getting one of those at the NHL level before too long.
