Connor Bedard is turning his season around very nicely and becoming the player that many believe he can be. We have to remember, he is still only 19 years old and it is very tough and rare to do what he's doing in the NHL as a teenager.
The superstar in the making has extended his point streak to seven games after recording an assist in the Chicago Blackhawks' most recent loss to the New York Rangers. With this point in his seventh consecutive game, Bedard became the third youngest Blackhawk in franchise history with a point streak of at least seven games.
Bedard did so at 19 years and 172 days, and the only two former players to have a point streak of seven games at a younger age were Bobby Hull (8 games at 18 years, 314 days) and Eddie Olczyk (9 games at 19 years, 106 days).
Bedard is up to 10 goals and 35 points in 40 games this season and with his recent play, is looking like he will finish above a point-per-game.
The young star has three goals and nine points in his seven game point streak. Four of those points have come on the power play and he has logged over 20:30 of ice time during that span of games as well. Bedard is still -7 in the past seven games and the team has won just once. The Blackhawks aren't very good this season, but with Bedard at the forefront, are well on their way to becoming a force in the league.
Bedard has a chance to extend his point streak to eight games on Wednesday against the Colorado Avalanche.
