The Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes play for the third time this season. This time it's at Nationwide Arena

The Carolina Hurricanes visit NWA for the second of two meetings in Columbus between the two teams this season. The Jackets and Canes have split the two games so far in 2024.

The Hurricanes come into this game with a 5-5 record in their last 10 games. Because of that, the Devils and Caps have separated themselves from the Hurricanes just a tad, so the Canes will be looking to snap out of this funk and leave Columbus with two points.

Carolina however, isn't the best team on the road. Boasting just an 8-9-1 record away from Lenovo Center, the CBJ won't just roll over and give this game to Carolina. The Blue Jackets are one of the best teams in the East at home, so expect some fireworks on New Year's Eve. The Blue Jackets have lost just four games in regulation at home. That ties them with Carolina and Washington for the fewest regulation home losses in the East.

Despite all that, the Hurricanes are still really good, so this won't be an easy game for Columbus.

The Hurricanes are currently 3rd in the Metro, 5th in the East, and 9th in the NHL.

The Blue Jackets are 5th in the Metro, 10th in the East, and 21st in the NHL.
