Last night in the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Islanders game, former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson jumped to the defense of his teammate Jake Guentzel and dropped the gloves.
Yes, you read that right—Atkinson dropped the gloves without hesitation and held his own against Islanders' Marc Gatcomb.
The fight came after Gatcomb threw a huge hit on Guentzel that appeared to catch him from behind. Without hesitation, Atkinson rushed in and started throwing punches.
Gatcomb was given two minutes for boarding and five for fighting. Atkinson received five for fighting and an extra two for instigating.
