The Columbus Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, have advanced to the second round of the AHL playoffs.
The Monsters faced off against the Toronto Marlies in the opening round and came away with a dominant sweep, winning the series 2-0. Backed by the stellar play of Jet Greaves, who has remained red-hot after returning from his NHL stint, the Monsters handled the Marlies with confidence and poise.
Next up is a much tougher challenge—the Laval Rocket, the top team in the league. It won’t be easy, but with Greaves in net, anything is possible. He’s the type of goaltender who can steal games and keep his team in any matchup. If he can slow down Laval’s high-powered offense, the Monsters could absolutely pull off the upset.
This series begins tomorrow, April 30th, at 7:00 PM. Unlike the first round, this one shifts to a best-of-five format, meaning the first team to three wins will advance.
