Zach Werenski has officially been added to the USA roster for the 2025 IIHF World Championships against the Swiss team in Denmark.
That's the good news for America. The bad news is that he just arrived with the team and doesn't seem to be playing today. The USA has a good mix of veterans and young guys, but there's no doubt that Werenski would bolster a defense that includes Mason Lohrei and Zeev Buium. Lohrei was a minus-43 this past season for Boston, while Buium just got out of college and played four playoff games for Minnesota.
Hopefully, Zach Werenski can get up to speed quickly and help his team go further than they did last year.
