The Columbus Blue Jackets could see their playoff hopes fade even further tonight in their game against the Ottawa Senators.

If the Senators are able to win tonight, they would clinch a playoff berth. This would be their first playoff appearance since the 2016-17 season. If that were to happen, the Blue Jackets would need to come away with at least one point to avoid being officially eliminated — essentially putting their playoff hopes to bed.

Unfortunately, they failed to collect a possible four points this past weekend as they were shutout by the Toronto Maple Leafs and the aforementioned Senators.

As of right now, the Blue Jackets sit eight points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the final wild card spot in the East, and they will need all the wins they can get.

Tonight, they look to change that fortune, pick up a huge two points, and prevent Ottawa from clinching a playoff berth.
