DALLAS - The Stars' (11-4-1) four-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday night with a 6-3 loss to the Avalanche at the American Airlines Center.

Head coach Pete DeBoer's contingent led 3-0 before Colorado roared back with six straight goals, including four tallies in the third.

Tyler Seguin scored twice and Joe Pavelski added another to put the Stars in control of the contest, but the Avalanche wouldn't be denied a comeback.

"It's a good learning lesson for us," emphasized DeBoer. "It’s good that it’s early in the year and not in the playoffs. You can always learn when you lose a game against a really good team like that."

It goes without saying that Seguin was exceptionally disappointed with the result against a division rival.

Registering his fourth and fifth markers of the campaign certainly didn't make swallowing the defeat any easier.

"It’s something I never would’ve predicted. That’s definitely not us," stressed Seguin. "We’re happy it happened now, it’s not a playoff game or it’s not late in the season. It’s a great learning tool for us to study and learn from."

Captain Jamie Benn shared Seguin's frustration with the result.

Dallas was outshot 15-6 in the final stanza when Colorado poured on the offense to secure the victory.

"Tonight’s a great example that hockey’s 60 minutes for a reason," said Benn.

The Stars are back in action on Monday night against another one of the League's elite clubs in the Rangers, who boast a 12-2-1 record and are in the midst of a four-game winning streak.

Talk about a perfect opportunity to rebound...

"We don’t want to let this linger. We want to get back after it. Nobody’s happy with it," said Pavelski. "We have that understanding."
